Creativity and New Media

Personally, YouTube is my favorite new media platform. I am always on YouTube for various reasons including news updates, music updates, sport updates, comedy, and one of my favorite, political satire. Political satire is content that comments on politics in a humorous way, intended to educate, but also make light of political events and topics. In many ways’ political satire mirrors politics in which news networks do not. Like actual politics, Late-night television’s political satire is very persuasive. Rather than simply being entertaining, these late-night television programs comment on the success and or failures of our political systems, influencing how viewers perceive the political climate. With wit and a showy delivery, Late-night satirical television use principles of persuasion to influence America’s perception of current politics.
