A new media platform that may be introduced could be a vlogging platform. Vlogging (short for “video blogging”) is the daily practice of capturing and sharing vlogs characteristically featuring a vlogger shooting themselves, mainly at arm’s length throughout their everyday activities (mediakix). The angle of the camera is supposed to provide an intimate sharing of a vloggers life to whom ever watches. There are many vloggers that utilize YouTube mainly. Vloggers can include skin care enthusiasts, singers, artist, partner/couple dynamics, and other areas in life people may be passionate about, or seeking guidance in. Vlogging is a space with little success to new entrants, because of many factors. These factors include amassing a following, technical support and expenses, innovation, and space. The biggest vloggers today are rewarded monetarily and or sponsored by brands the vlogger showcases within their content. There are many people I am close with that are interested in creating vlogs, however a lot of work, effort and time is needed to have a successful vlog.
A new media platform that should be introduced is a platform for people all around the world to post and follow vlogs. Like an Instagram, users will create their own vlogs based off personal themes and content. The app will already come with standardized settings for vlogs such has preferable camera angles, lighting effects and text filters. A user may follow their favorite vlogs, while also participating in their own vlog. Each vlog can be a max of 2 mins and be embedded with a link to YouTube where the full vlog may be watched. This platform will not only allow new entrants to have a fair chance but will also connect new interest ones to already established vloggers. Companies may also be able to vlog, instead of sponsoring, they may have already established or new vloggers vlog for them, on the companies personal account. This will create jobs in marketing and allow exposure for vloggers to be noticed and sponsored. Perhaps the name may be called Immevlog or vlogscope.

  1. Hi Christopher,
I think your idea will be very helpful to businesses and influencers. My friend is an influencer on Instagram and is trying to make the switch to YouTube, but it was hard to switch platforms. Your idea with settings could be very helpful to people like her making the switch to different platforms for their brands.
